As a Chemical Engineer, Helena Feijoo aims to develop solutions that drive technological advancements and contribute to a more sustainable future. She has always been passionate about tackling challenges and learning from diverse perspectives and fields of knowledge. During her bachelor’s degree at the University of Santiago de Compostela, she decided to undertake an internship at KU Leuven in Belgium and participate in the Erasmus program at Politecnico di Milano in Italy. She later pursued her master’s degree, where she learned to integrate advanced theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical experience, especially in the Biotechnology field.
Throughout her studies, she developed a strong passion for research. Helena was awarded several fellowships to conduct research on environmental topics, combining process modeling, techno-economic analysis and life cycle assessment methodologies across various processes, from agricultural practices to wastewater treatment.
Now, Helena is beginning her Doctoral Candidate 9 position at TU Delft in NANAQUA Project, eager to contribute to the integration of nano-based materials with wastewater technology in a working team where innovation, initiative, and collaboration are essential pillars.
